Many people have asked me why I chose to write about the `stories of the Desert Fathers. They believe they are legends and have no relevance to modern Christianity. Yet I believe these stories, legend or not, tell of something much deeper than mere historical facts; they tell God s eternal truth. In the light of God s truth, historical facts are simply details. So with each Desert Father I will present the historical facts as they are known and then I will give you a lesson from each.
